A warm fundraising idea

What better way to stay warm this winter and honor America on its 250th birthday.

South Sioux City Chamberettes vice president Mary Wiltgen has designed and sewn a quilt that utilizes the front of the new Freedom Park T-shirts that have been making the rounds this spring and summer. She recently completed the quilt and it will be used as a fundraiser by the Chamberettes that will go toward its ongoing efforts to support Siouxland Freedom Park here in South Sioux City.

This beautiful, commemorative quilt is the winning prize for a Chamberettes raffle that will be going on through November, and tickets will be on sale through any Chamberettes member or at their annual fall luncheon this September.

The 21st annual SSC Chamberettes Luncheon, Bake Sale and Raffle is set for Tuesday, Sept. 15, from 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m. at the American Legion Hall, located at 109 E. 19th St. in South Sioux City.

Tickets for the luncheon can be purchased in advance from any Chamberettes member or at the door. Cost is $10 per person, and children under age 5 eat free.
