The South Sioux City baseball team is the No. 5 seed and is on the road for the first round of the A-4 district tournament that begins today.
The 6-11 Cardinals will travel to Den Hartog Field in Lincoln to face fourth-seeded Lincoln Southeast (10-16) at 5 p.m. The winner in the single-elimination tournament travels to Millard West on Friday to face the top-seeded Wildcats at 5 p.m.
Elkhorn South hosts Lincoln North Star in the other Friday semifinal. The highest remaining seed will host the district championship game, set for Saturday at a time to be announced.
