Work that was scheduled to begin the week of June 23 on U.S. Highway 75 north of Homer has been moved back, according to the Nebraska Department of Transportation.

Keith Koertje of the Nebraska Department of Transportation, told the Dakota County Star Monday that the work date is being moved back to Aug. 11, due to a backlog of work delayed by weather.

Constructors, Inc., of Lincoln, is the prime contractor for the five-mile project. Work includes fly ash shoulder re-stabilization, asphalt surfacing, earth shoulder construction and seeding.

Traffic will be restricted to one lane using flaggers. Anticipated completion is later this summer.

Motorists are reminded to drive cautiously in and near work zones, to buckle up, and put phones down.
