Homer girl dies in one-vehicle accident

A one-vehicle accident late Monday afternoon has claimed the life of a 16-year-old female from rural Homer.

According to the Dakota County Sheriff’s Office, the victim, whose name was not released, was driving a side-by-side vehicle which left the roadway and rolled over about one mile south of Homer on Omaha Avenue.

There were no other occupants in the vehicle and the driver was declared dead at the scene.

The accident is currently under investigation by the Dakota County Sheriff’s Office with assistance from the Nebraska State Patrol.
