The Homer girls basketball team suffered its second loss of the season Thursday night, dropping a 63-45 decision to Humphrey-Lindsay in the C2-6 subdistrict finals at Homer High School.

The visiting Bulldogs got out to an early lead and built a nine-point lead at the half. Homer couldn’t get within striking distance as the visitors pulled away to claim the subdistrict title and an automatic bid in next week’s district finals.

Although the Lady Knights fell to 23-2 on the season, Homer is still guaranteed a spot in next week’s district finals. The top eight teams in the wild card point standings will host the district final games. Homer was in fifth place in the standings before Thursday’s game and are not expected to fall out of the top eight.

Official announcement of the teams and game locations will be announced by the NSAA once all subdistrict games are completed and points are updated.
