The second year of regional alignment for the six high school volleyball classifications was announced Friday by the Nebraska School Activities Association.
Homer has moved up to Class C-1 and will compete in Region 2, which includes area schools such as Logan View/Scribner-Snyder, Omaha Nation, Pierce, Wakefield, Wayne, West Point-Beemer and Winnebago.
Ponca will be in the Class C-2 Region 2 alignment that includes fellow Mid State Conference foes Crofton, Guardian Angels and Norfolk Catholic, along with Pender, Stanton, Tekamah-Herman, LCC and Walthill.
Tri County Northeast will compete in Class D-1 and will be in Subdistrict D1-4 with Bancroft-Rosalie, Hartington Cedar Catholic, Hartington-Newcastle and Lyons-Decatur Northeast.
In Class C-1 and Class C-2, the three larger regions will serpentine into three subdistricts of 4-6 teams, based on wildcard points through Tuesday, Oct. 21, while Region 4 will be one six-team subdistrict.
Subdistricts and brackets will be announced on Thursday, Oct. 23, with subdistrict play set for Oct. 27-28.
Ten subdistrict winners and six wildcards will advance to the district finals, set for Saturday, Nov. 1. Those winners advance to the state tournament, set for Nov. 5-8 in Lincoln.

Class C-1
Region 1 — Ashland-Greenwood, Auburn, Bishop Neumann, Boys Town, Conestoga, Douglas County West, Falls City, Fort Calhoun, Louisville, Omaha Brownell-Talbot, Omaha Concordia, Omaha Roncalli, Palmyra, Platteview, Syracuse, Wahoo.
Region 2 — Arlington, Battle Creek, Boone Central, Clarkson/Leigh, Homer, Logan View/Scribner-Snyder, Madison, North Bend Central, O’Neill, Omaha Nation, Pierce, Columbus Scotus, Wakefield, Wayne, West Point-Beemer, Winnebago.
Region 3 — Adams Central, Broken Bow, Central City, David City, Fairbury, Fillmore Central, Grand Island Central Catholic, Holdrege, Kearney Catholic, Lincoln Christian, Lincoln Lutheran, Malcolm, Milford, Minden, Raymond Central, Wilber-Clatonia.
Region 4 — Bridgeport, Chadron, Chase County, Cozad, Gothenburg, Ogallala.
Class C-2
Region 1 — Aquinas, Archbishop Bergan, Cedar Bluffs, Centennial, Cornerstone Christian, Elmwood-Murdock, Freeman, Heartland/Hampton, Johnson County Central, Johnson-Brock, Nebraska Christian, Shelby-Rising City, Southern, Thayer Central, Twin River, Yutan.
Region 2 — Crofton, Elkhorn Valley, Guardian Angels, Humphrey-Lindsay, LCC, Lutheran High NE, Norfolk Catholic, Oakland-Craig, Pender, Ponca, Stanton, Summerland, Tekamah-Herman, Walthill, West Holt, Wisner-Pilger.
Region 3 — Alma, Arcadia/Loup City, Centura, Doniphan-Trumbull, Elm Creek, Gibbon, Hastings St. Cecilia, Hershey, Maxwell, North Platte St. Patrick’s, Ord, Ravenna, Sandy Creek, St. Paul, Superior, Wood River.
